Whose Bullshitting ???

A couple of weeks back some cracks were noticed on the Zuari Bridge. The Bridge that connects the lively South Goa to the professional North Goa.But everybody made it seem so bad, as if the bridge was about to collapse the next day, authorities were quick to react, but as usual, in their old silly ways. The bridge was declared closed for all heavy traffic and there were fingers pointing to the ferry as the alternate means of crossing the River Zuari. But it was sad to know that the ferry couldn’t reach the jetty due to low water level.Hmmmmmm....... now guess what happens next.( OK times-up, now stop guessing and start reading further to check if your guess was right )
The KTCL (Kitei Tori Chorun Lipoitole !!!) came up with a plan, they said their busses will transport people from Margao to Cortalim, then there shall be free transportation in small busses just to cross the bridge, then again the from other side of the bridge the people have to take another bus to Panaji. This so called free transport across the bridge ( if rumors are believed to be true) doesn’t come free at all as the people pay the same amount to travel as they used to pay before. So why the word FREE then ?? And if this was done to reduce the load on the bridge then how does it help to do so ??
I'm yet to try this as I’m too lazy to change three busses and so i prefer the Shuttle Service.KTCL also said they will be adding more busses to the shuttle service to help in smooth moving of the people between the two districts of the state. Just come and have a look at the queue of people waiting for the Shuttle and it gives a clear picture of how smooth it really is. The queue begins at one end of the bus-stand in Margao and reaches the other end and sometimes takes a big 'U' turn as well. And then there is a shortage of busses felt suddenly everyday which halts the queue for at least another 15 to 20 minutes. How smooth isn’t it ?? And also not forgetting those people who come and give broad smiles to people at the start of the queue and ask them to buy a ticket for them as well (they do come up with good excuses though) and so the people at the end of the queue stay at the end only (traffic jam in the queue ??). Its not over yet, to make matters worse now they allow only 23 people in the Shuttle.Dont laugh. This is done to reduce the load on the bridge.
Now comes the most interesting part, would you believe ?? these shuttle busses take 23 people only but the other busses which transport people across the bridge ( free transport) go full packed. No no no, please don’t laugh, this should be a great idea which reduces the load on the bridge, only might be our brains cant understand how it does so. I’m still struggling to find out how.If any of you people know, then please tell me also.(Check the picture below)
After knowing all this, now I really want to know who is bullshitting?
Is it the KTCL who things all Goans are fools and that they can cheat us so easily ??
Is it the Politicians who again have some hidden dirty policies of robbing us in the name of the bridge ??
Is it the press whose is not covering such issues and making people aware of what is really going on behind the scenes just because they are getting their share of the cake ??
Or is it we the people who are behaving like the three monkeys - keeping our eyes closed to what we see, shutting our ears to respond to people asking for our help to voice out these issues, and closing our mouth to keep all those words that we have to say inside us. Or is it that attitude of ours which says " Why should I bother ?? "
So i end up by asking " If we allow such thing to go on and keep on ignoring them, then in the long run, where are we heading to ??? "

I'm sick and I’m loving it .

I'm sick and really in a very bad condition, its getting worse day by day, but I’m really enjoying it. This sickness is called FOOTBALL FEVER. I’m suffering from it, but I’m not the only one. There exists many others all around the world whose condition is same as mine or may be even worse. And for all of us the next 31 days are going to be a real tuff time.

This sickness is not so rare in a state like Goa where sports starts and ends with football. Someone rightly said that Goa is all about the 5 F's --> Fish, Feni, Fun, Friends and Football. Thanks to the Portuguese who brought this lovely game to Goa and many other good things aswell, but as for now I would now like to say obrigado para o presente deste jogo encantador chamado football.

The symptoms were present for the past many days and finally the day has come when bearing them has really turned out to be very difficult for me. Although the remedy is quite clear and every suffering person is aware of what's to be done next, nobody can start working on it right now. Seems like the hands of the clock are really dragging their feet trying to move as slowly as possible and increasing the gap between me and my medicine. My treatment will begin tomorrow (9th June) as soon as the referee blows his whistle and 62 live football matches between the best 32 teams in the world is what promises to heal me from this sickness. I got to admit myself on the 9th of June and 9th of July is when I shall be discharged. Hopefully this fever should be gone by then.

Everybody’s talking about it, may it be in the market place or in a crowded bus, just outside the church or at the traffic signals, in restaurants or in the parking lot, seems like no one can just keep away form it. The talks are in the air, here and everywhere. Some want to see Beckhamp’s free kicks, some are waiting for Ronaldo’s over-runs, others are waiting for Dida’s saves and what not. The team jerseys are to be seen everywhere and the flags of all these participating nations fly-high. The so called Coke-Zones have started appearing at different places to help people catch the action on giant screens. The air around smells of football and other then football there nothing else that people can think of.

All this is a pleasure to watch and its really beautiful to get lost into it. Different expectations from different people and everyone has their own opinions and philosophies to explain as to who should emerge out as champions and why. But in the end, lets not forget that its just a sport and things could turn around any time. So ah jus wanna say “ Be prepared for the un-expected”.

So calling out all you football lovers and keeping in mind the motto of FIFA06 “ Time to make friends “ here’s me wishing you an excitement filled world cup, also praying for quick recovery of all those suffering from Football Fever and telling the rest BE WARE – Because It’s Contagious !!!

NB: This post was written on the 7th of June but due to some reasons couldn’t be put up on my blog during that time, then the biggest event on earth began and I jus forgot to upload it. But finally its up there now. Am sorry about that.
